Oval Dutch Oven Pizza


  • 1 LB of pizza dough, brought to room temperature
  • Shredded or fresh mozzarella
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Various toppings of your choice
  • Unbleached parchment paper


  1. Preheat oven to 450 and place an oven rack on the bottom position
  2. Roll out your dough on a lightly powdered surface so it’s big enough to fit into your Dutch Oven. For the Xtrema 7.5 qt, we like to roll the dough out to 10-12 inches long
  3. Fold an 18-inch piece of parchment paper in thirds to make a “sling” for the pizza
  4. Gently transfer the pizza dough to the parchment paper and top with sauce, cheese, and toppings
  5. Let the Dutch Oven preheat by putting in on the oven’s bottom rack for 2-3 minutes
  6. Remove the Dutch Oven from the oven and gently place the parchment paper and pizza inside of the Dutch Oven
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden brown
